HAVS ‘hand arm vibration syndrome’ Exposure to vibration may not sound dangerous, but the effects can be severely disabling if you ignore the symptoms and carry on without being able to recognise when your exposure exceeds a safe level. This concise and effective training programme will help you to recognise the early warning signs, so that something can be done before it’s too late and damage becomes permanent.
There are a number comprehensive sections each one looking at the risks and dangers. Do you know what Hand Arm Vibration is! This one section looks at how working with vibrating tools can affect your health. We explore the term Hand-arm Vibration Syndrome and explain exactly how each stages of this illness progresses and the dangers. We also look at Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which is another factor to consider.
We also cover in detail the regulations along with safe exposure levels and exposure limits. We look at what your employer should do to keep you safe along with your own actions and what you can do to help yourself to stay safe. Under this section we also include a vibration exposure look-up table, and link to various tools to give you an idea of how long you can safely use a particular piece of machinery, and more importantly, at what point you MUST stop in order to prevent damage to your health.
The course is fully interactive with mission sections to test your new found knowledge, along with a self-assessment test paper.
